OneNKY Unity: Why It’s Important
Unified Vision begins with a purpose, and plan for the benefit of the community as we elevate the quality of life for ALL in Northern KY. There is strength in numbers, but of all the numbers, none commands greater strength, resilience, and distinction, than ONE.
OneNKY advances the people of our community through advocacy and infrastructure development, leveraging our assets in partnership with our growth organizations, elected officials, business and community leaders. Specific regional strategies support these efforts to deliver world class standards of unity, education, and health for all community members.
Unifying Boone, Campbell & Kenton Counties in Kentucky
The 352,613 population of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties is a driving force within the Cincinnati MSA – 1,764,000 (2022 Census). As the biggest small town in the country, this OneNKY community is driven by an attitude of servant leadership and a red-carpet welcome on all community and growth fronts.
OneNKY Alliance and stakeholders are responsible for unifying, supporting, measuring, and energizing the unity mission through a community vision that encompasses a comprehensive strategy. We are focused on the next phase of growth of the OneNKY Community and existing assets through policy and infrastructure and the development of capital strategy.
Many Voices, Shared Vision, ONE Community
Activated in May 2024, our “OneNKY Building Community Unity” initiative focuses on resident pride and a unified narrative that reflects who we are and where we aspire to go – together as a community! This shared sentiment and ownership of the place celebrates the strengths and unique qualities of our region.
We as Northern Kentuckians have diverse voices, unique perspectives, and varied experiences. We embrace our own dreams. We pursue independent ambitions. We take fearless pride in what defines us as individuals,” explains Karen Finan, President and CEO. “But for all that makes us different, what we share makes us… more. More than neighbors, more than colleagues. What we share makes us one. It makes us strong. It makes us confident. It gives us a chance to be ourselves, and to elevate each other. And that is what makes us OneNKY.

Attracting Businesses, Talent and Tourism
Thanks to the leadership of the OneNKY Alliance in partnership with meetNKY, BE NKY and the NKY Chamber of Commerce, our shared community narrative and unified identity are becoming a reality. This work positions NKY within the broader community to attract more business investment, talent, and tourism.
Work is well underway with hundreds of stakeholder interviews to develop our root identity of unity. Stay tuned as we embrace our connection and curiosity, welcoming new investments and opportunities to our OneNKY Community!

Corridor of Commerce
OneNKY Community entered a new phase of growth with the Corridor of Commerce through a focus on policy and infrastructure related to our existing assets and benefiting our greatest asset – our people! It is the road map for NKY – the vision that sets the tone for our future in concert with our growth organizations, business and community leaders, elected officials, and our residents.
The Corridor of Commerce contains a collection of unique assets integral to global commerce, including the pre-existing global supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing infrastructure. All with the OneNKY region at its core! We create partnerships with an eye toward capital support, infrastructure investment, workforce development, and quality of life/place components in the Corridor of Commerce to attract, nurture, and innovate in areas of strength. Join us as we envision and implement the road map for OneNKY and build on the future of the Corridor, We will define the critical components for realizing its potential, and identify the essential partners to engage.
LinkNKY
LinkNKY is an independent multi-media company focused on providing and amplifying Northern Kentucky’s voice across Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties. Link tells us stories of the community through digital written, audio and video content, daily email newsletter, and bi-monthly print super issues mailed to every household in NKY.
LinkNKY provides a platform to increase the region’s engagement, call for accountability, and explore solutions to make a difference within the OneNKY Community.
The OneNKY Alliance Board incubated and launched this effort in 2021, noting a need for a stronger voice within the community. Northern Kentucky University (NKU), NKY Chamber, and the Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky joined OneNKY through appointments to the governing board, in addition to private businesses.
LaunchNKY
A thriving community has engaged residents. Getting folks to engage in civic, nonprofit, and political endeavors is the goal of LaunchNKY. The OneNKY Alliance has partnered with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to provide an easy-access toolkit for Northern Kentuckians to get engaged. The website is set up to help anyone interested get started on their engagement journey. The material is approachable and there are links to ask questions and request additional information.
